A beautifully colored example of the lotus/vine motif. The abrashed blue ground is exceptionally well-handled, and it is interesting that the weaver chose to use a similar color to shade some of the flowers. This unusual juxtaposition of similar colors is featured in older weavings from Central Asia. The articulation of the tendrils and the veins of the leaves indicate the level of artistry practiced by the weaver who was obviously very familiar with this pattern.
